Accreditation

Higher Learning Commission (HLC)

We have been continuously accredited since 1983 by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) under the AQIP Pathway. This requires the college to operate and maintain evidence of continuous quality improvement practices. SFCC writes a self-study every four years, known as the Systems Portfolio, a comprehensive accreditation document that describes SFCC’s processes and progress in the six AQIP categories:

  • Helping Students Learn
  • Meeting Student and Other  Key Stakeholder  Needs
  • Valuing Employees
  • Planning and Leading
  • Knowledge Management and Resource Stewardship
  • Quality Overview

After the report is submitted to the HLC, a peer review team create a formal response known as the Systems Appraisal Feedback Report. This report helps to guide our accreditation efforts for the next four years.
