Join Social Justice conversation at noon on Zoom today
Vincent Werito, Ph.D., one of the UNM series speakers.
Just a friendly reminder to join the conversation at noon today.
Here’s President Becky Rowley’s invitation:
Dear SFCC Community,
I am glad so many of you could join us for the online Social Justice kickoff event. The distinguished U.N.M. speakers (Shiv Desai, Ph.D.; Nancy López, Ph.D.; Leola Paquin, Ph.D.; and Vincent Werito, Ph.D.) gave us much to think about as we dive deeper into the concepts presented in the “Honoring Our Relationships Through Solidarity” keynote address.
If you missed the kickoff, you still have an opportunity to view it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CESKIVV8vvk . If you watched it or have an opportunity to watch it before the next session at noon on February 21, we ask you to record your attendance by filling out this brief form: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SFCCkeynote2022. Have your A number handy to fill out the form.
We want everyone at SFCC to watch the initial presentation and to provide input in the subsequent conversations. Student voices are vital to these conversations, so please encourage our students to attend.
I appreciate you taking out the time from your busy schedules to be part of this process. I am also excited to share that you will be able to earn a digital badge (PDAC Social Justice Series badge) by attending the entire series. No registration is required. This digital noncredit badge can be earned by employees or students and could be useful to add to your résumé for future employment. Your attendance will be automatically recorded in the subsequent Zoom sessions to earn the digital badge.
I know it might not be possible for some of you to attend the entire series. You’re welcome to attend any of the subsequent sessions and be a part of these important conversations. You will need to attend the entire series to earn the digital badge.
On MySFCC you will find a Social Justice Series web page (login required.) You can access the page from my SFCC by clicking on the “Social Justice Series” button in the Resources section or the “Social Justice Series” menu item. You will find the dates and Zoom links for the upcoming sessions, as well as see the full schedule and speaker bios. (Note: You will be asked to register at the beginning of the Zoom session with your A number.)
If you need any special accommodations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org at least three business days in advance of any of these online events.
Thank you for your ongoing commitment to equity and social justice.
