Testing Schedule
About the Exam: Students taking the HESI admissions exam for entrance into the SFCC Nursing Program are allowed to test twice in an application period. Each testing date has an automatic retest date of at least 28 business days **following the original test date**. Please be sure that when you select your preferred test date, you will be available for the retest date as well, should it become necessary.
Exam Subjects included in HESI: Biology, Chemistry, Grammar, Math, Reading Comprehension, and Vocabulary.
Both the 1st and 2nd attempt exams are set for 4 hours and 30 minutes. Please plan accordingly when coming in to take your exam(s).
Admission for Spring 2025 – Registration Opens June 1
August 1, 2, and 5, 6 – First test attempt
Please follow all steps in the below PDF to ensure exams are properly registered, paid, and scheduled. staff is available at the Testing Center for assistance during regular hours for website navigation assistance. Please contact ElSevier directly for technical and Evolve specific assistance.
September 9 to 12 – Second test attempt
Registration will open after the first attempt exams are completed.
Below are steps to start your registration process. Candidates must complete both steps to ensure their appointment is properly registered, paid for, and scheduled.
**Please note that if you are testing at SFCC but plan to attend another college’s nursing program, you must check with that school to see how much time they require between testing attempts. SFCC’s requirement is 28 days, but some schools have significantly longer times required between attempts.**

Cancellations and Date Changes
If you need to cancel or request a refund for any reason, please complete all of the following steps:
1. Open the following digital form and fill it out. Be sure to note you are completing the right sections. This is a fillable form, and typed in answers are preferred.
2. Share a copy of your completed form to the Testing Center Manager, Lourdes Parks, at lourdes.parks@sfcc.edu. Please allow for 2-4 business days to process your request.
Accessibility Accommodations for Examinees with Documented Disabilities
Testing accommodations are provided for examinees with documented disabilities in accordance with ADA.
For Non-SFCC Students: please contact the Testing Center for next steps; testingcenter@sfcc.edu
For SFCC Students: To receive accommodations you must meet with the SFCC Office of Accessibility Services for a standards intake interview. You will also submit documentation for review. The Testing Center and Elsevier will not provide non-standard testing arrangements without a referral the SFCC Office of Accessibility Services. It may take several weeks for the documentation to be properly processed. Elsevier requires testing candidates submit a request at least 2 weeks before the scheduled exam date.
