Student Accessibility Services – Important Resources

The Student Welcome and Advising Center provides direction on getting started at SFCC or continuing an academic career. In this department, students can find assistance on building a schedule, receiving their student ID, and academic advising. The mission of the Student Resource Coordinator is to guide and support students on their journey by providing case management and specific non-academic community resources with kindness and understanding. All services are free and confidential. Some of those resources focus on basic needs such as:

• Housing and Shelter
• Food
• Legal Services
• Transportation
• Childcare Services
• Utility Payment Assistance
• Physical and Mental Health Services

• The Campus Cupboard is a free food pantry that is available for all SFCC Students. Students can visit between 8am-5pm or make an appointment. You can contact the cupboard at 505-428-1775 or cupboard@sfcc.edu.
• The Exchange is located next door to the Campus Cupboard.  The Exchange is a free clothing closet where students can find items from casual to professional. There are clothing options for young  children and infants as well.

Whether you are facing a difficult life experience, wanting tools and support to manage stress, or seeking personal growth SFCC Counseling Services is here to help.

Helpful things to know about Counseling:

• Counseling is free of charge for all registered SFCC students
• Counselor will listen carefully and work with you as a student to support you in ways that are meaningful to your specific circumstances
• Counseling is confidential and is not part of your academic record
• There is a private room available for students awaiting counseling sessions
• For many students, it is their first time coming to counseling
• Counselors are professionally licensed

You can make an in-person or telehealth appointment with a counselor by emailing counselingservices@sfcc.edu.  A counselor will contact you to set up an appointment time.

If you prefer telehealth or want to meet with a therapist outside the 8-5 weekday hours, UWill Mental Health and Wellness is also available to SFCC Students. Uwill wellness includes a wide range of videos for yoga, academic breaks, relationship support, meditation, and more!

At SFCC, we believe every student who wants to go to college should be able to do so. That’s why we work hard to help you afford the cost of your education. The Library provides expert services and excellent resources that support student success, life-long learning, and academic freedom. Learning materials and research assistance are available. Additional services include Internet access, passports to other libraries, study rooms, family friendly work rooms, reference assistance, and interlibrary loan services. TRIO Student Support Services is available to assist students that are income eligible, first generation students, and students with disabilities. TRIO provides academic coaching, tutoring, life skills workshops, computer labs and more. You may contact Trio at 505-428-1364 or trio@sfcc.edu.

Tutoring Center offers free tutoring. Tutors can help with reading, writing, study skills, Spanish, science, mathematics and computer applications. Tutoring is available by appointment or on a walk-in basis. You may reach the Tutoring Center at 505-428-1365 or Robert.Gutierrez@sfcc.edu
