Santa Fe Community College Foundation

Santa Fe Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization supporting the mission of Santa Fe Community College, which is “Empower students, strengthen community.”

We exist to help generous donors help SFCC students succeed.

We do this by providing the opportunity for donors to remove financial barriers to students and assist with tuition, fees, textbooks, and transportation. We also assist donors who want to provide support for programs, equipment, or even food and childcare.

We help donors provide scholarship support.

Through scholarship support, students who otherwise would not be able to attend college get that chance. Approximately 72% of SFCC students are the first in their families to attend college, and these first-generation students are especially vulnerable.

Scholarship support often means they can focus on their studies instead of having to juggle full-time work and school as they navigate their way through their coursework. For many, the only way they can attend SFCC is through scholarship support.

SFCC is a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution and, as such, the Foundation is working with donors to increase the number of scholarships and support services to Hispanic, low-income, and first-generation students.

Generous gifts have also increased the number of scholarships for Native American students, and the SFCC Foundation now houses scholarships for students from each Pueblo and the Hopi and Navajo Nations.

We help donors provide programmatic support.

The academic programs at SFCC provide opportunities for classroom and experiential learning, leading to good prospects for future employment. Staying flexible allows SFCC to meet emerging workforce needs to sustain a healthy northern New Mexico economy.

For example, responding to local business needs has led to new curriculum in welding and construction, green building, culinary arts, sustainability and renewable energy practices, and others.

Gifts that support faculty initiatives, equipment, research and facilities lead to student experiences beyond the curriculum that benefit them, SFCC, and the local economy. Professional development opportunities for faculty hone their skills so they bring even more energy and effectiveness to their classrooms.
