New Student Checklist


  1. Complete admissions application
    1. Apply Here
      • you will receive an email within one business day with your Student ID number (“A” number)
      • For assistance regarding the admissions application or process contact the Student Affairs Office at 505-428-1270.
    2. Connect with Welcome and Support Coordinator for help on admissions
    3. Submit official transcripts
      • Submit official* high school, GED, other college transcript(s), Advanced Placement test score(s), CLEP, and/or Joint Service Transcript (for Military) to:

      • Electronic transcripts can be accepted from the issuing school/college have them send official transcripts to
        • Guidelines
          • An official transcript must be printed within the last year and sent directly from the institution in a sealed envelope marked “official”.
          • Faxed transcripts are not accepted.

  1. Apply for FAFSA.
    1. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on the FAFSA website
    2. Contact the Financial Aid Office from your SFCC student email with any questions or concerns
    3. After you have been notified by FAFSA that your application has been processed, check your financial aid profile by logging into MySFCC.

      1. Accessibility Services are here to ensure that all students have equal access to the educational offerings at the Santa Fe Community College. Many types of diagnosis are represented at the college including learning disabilities, physical impairments, and mental health conditions. If you feel that Accessibility Services would benefit your progress in the classroom, please make a “New Student Appointment” to begin the intake process.   1. Get Your Student ID
      1. Go to Welcome and Advising Center (Room 201)
      2. You must be enrolled in classes
      3. Use your student ID to access services such as the Library, Computer Labs, Testing Center, and the Fitness Education Center.
