How To Enroll In Classes at SFCC

COMPLETE AN ADMISSION FORM

Complete and submit an admission form online here

Once you’ve successfully applied, you will receive an email within one business day with your Student ID number (known as the “A” number) that you will need for a variety of campus services.
If you are a student with a disability and would like to discuss accommodations, contact Student Accessibility Services 505-428-1711.
For assistance regarding the admissions application or process contact the Student Affairs Office at 505-428-1270.

CLAIM YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT

Check your personal email address for instructions on how to claim your account.
If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your junk or spam box
Activate your student account at MySFCC.
After logging into MySFCC you will have access to your SFCC student email. Check it regularly. This is the only official means of communication with the college.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID

To apply for any type of financial aid, complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Forms are available on the FAFSA website
Contact the Financial Aid Office financialaid@sfcc.edu from your SFCC student email with any questions or concerns to you may have.
After you have been notified by FAFSA that your application has been processed, check your financial aid profile by logging into MySFCC.

PLACEMENT TEST

SFCC utilizes multiple measures for assessment exam testing, this includes the ALEKS PPL math assessment exam, EdReady English assessment, and the WebCAPE Spanish assessment. Information regarding each of these exams are here: https://www.sfcc.edu/assessment-exams/

English assessments are arranged per advisor’s recommendation. Likewise, ACT and SAT scores are assessed by advisors. Please schedule an appointment with an advisor for further steps. Recent ACT or SAT scores maybe used to determine placement. Students must provide an official transcripts. SAT and ACT scores should be sent to the SFCC Registrar’s office through their respective student portals.

☑ Students may also provide an official transcripts to their Academic Advisor, showing math and English courses completed within the last three years. These courses may sometimes be used to determine placement.

☑ Honor Code: The Code of Conduct applies to all students, visitors, and guests regardless of status. SFCC recognizes that there is a diverse student body and has established standards so that all students have the opportunity to pursue their educational goals in a respectful and high-quality atmosphere.

☑ Required documentation: Government issued photo ID or Student ID, access to your A#, and login information for your mysfcc.edu account.

Course Assessment Table: This guide can be used for SFCC placement according to a tester’s score.

*Transcript Guidelines

  • An official transcript must be printed within the last year and sent directly from the institution in a sealed envelope marked “official”.
  • Electronic transcripts can be accepted from the issuing school/college have them send official transcripts to records@sfcc.edu.
  • Faxed transcripts are not accepted.

☑ Advisors are available to assist you in selecting courses that are right for your degree and to help you enroll.

ARRANGE FOR PAYMENT

Payment options:

☑ Pay in full online or make payment arrangements through MySFCC or the Cashier’s Office (505) 428-1211.
☑ Financial aid and scholarships are available. Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form online, or call SFCC’s Financial Aid Office at (505) 428-1268 for assistance.
☑ The Student Employment Office gives you the opportunity to gain work experience and earn income while you attend college.

PURCHASE YOUR BOOKS

☑ Visit the SFCC bookstore online at https://www.bkstr.com/sfccstore/home 
☑ Financial Aid accounts and third party accounts can be used to purchase books
☑ When available purchase digital book formats to avoid shipping delays

GET A STUDENT ID CARD

☑ When the campus reopens, bring a copy of your class schedule to Welcome and Advising Center (Room 201) or the Fitness Education Center to get your Student Identification Card.
☑ Your student ID will allow you access to services such as the Library, Computer Labs, Testing Center, and the Fitness Education Center.
