Spanish Language
The Associate in Arts in Spanish in intended for students seeking opportunities where Spanish language proficiency will enhance their careers in any field that requires bi-lingual communication skills. The Spanish certificate program is aimed at students who want to be able to use professional Spanish in their workplace, neighborhood and community.
Employment prospects for people who are proficient in Spanish has increased substantially in the last decades. This demand is especially high in Santa Fe in the areas of tourism, health care, education and government. Spanish is an official language of New Mexico and bilingual employees may receive larger salaries than their non-Spanish-speaking counterparts.
