President of U.S. Green Building Council praises SFCC

Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO of U.S. Green Building Council, visited Santa Fe to talk about the city’s commitment to sustainability. He met with Santa Fe Mayor Webber and SFCC leaders. On the national stage

Kyle Pacheco participated in the 2019 Young Chefs Nationals, held annually by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, the world’s oldest international gastronomic society. Pacheco is a two-time Far West Region champion. SFCC’s Chef Jerry Dakan and Chef Patrick Mares were in attendance, along with President Cecilia Cervantes, who said: “Kyle did awesome…we’re all so proud of him!”

Call for Submissions!

The submission period for the 2019 issue of The Santa Fe Literary Review is now open through November 1. This year’s theme is The Spaces Between Exploring freedom, distance, movement and time.

Submission categories include dramatic writing, creative nonfiction, poetry, fiction and visual art. Details are online, or for more info email sflr@sfcc.edu.

Joe Long: My Photographic Life Opening Reception, June 13

“Joe Long: My Photographic Life” opens with a reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in SFCC’s Visual Arts Gallery. The exhibition runs through Thursday, July 11.

Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Dinner, June 20

This year’s Chaîne des Rôtisseurs dinner is from 5:30 to 9:30, Thursday, June 20 in the Jemez Rooms.

Enjoy a uniquely crafted gourmet celebration while you support education and inspiring Santa Fe’s culinary community. Proceeds benefit Cooking with Kids and Santa Fe Community College Foundation’s Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Culinary Arts Endowed Scholarship.

SFCC is supporting this year’s Pancakes on the Plaza July 4. If you’re interested in volunteering, please visit the volunteer site for info and to sign up. The deadline to sign up is July 1, sign up early to get a shot at the most popular shifts.

Paramedic program accepting applications through July 31

SFCC’s Emergency Medical Services Institute is accepting Paramedic Training Program applications now until 5 p.m. July 31 for the certificate program that starts October 14 and runs through December 2020.

Certificate in Advanced Dental Assisting Skills (part-time, evening and online available)
AAS in Dental Health (5-semester, full-time program)
Certificate in Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) (2-semester program with online and weekends available)
