“We’re happy to add access to the warm-water pool to the public. We’ve successfully opened our lap pool for swimming on a limited basis. Our staff has trained to open in the safest way possible,” Fitness Facility Center Director Herman Garcia said.
Ute Jannsen-Kerr, Academic Director, School of Fitness Education, said, “We also want the community to know that the college is now offering American Red Cross safety classes at the pool in the Fitness Education Center.” For information about those classes contact Tomas.duran@sfcc.edu or call 505-428-1608.
“The college’s COVID-19 safety team is looking at options for opening the Fitness Education Center for other types of public use on an appointment basis. The college’s COVID-19 safety team will continue to review state and federal guidelines in making those decisions,” Jannsen-Kerr added.
