The Santa Fe Community College Chorus teams up once again this spring with the SFCC Chamber Singers to present the Spring Choral Concert on Saturday, May 7 at 2 p.m. The show is free, open to the public and takes place in the Jemez Rooms on the SFCC campus, 6401 Richards Ave.
The program, With a Voice of Singing!, features the performances of SFCC’s student chorus and choral chamber singers who have participated in classes and rehearsals during the past semester. Musical pieces include madrigals, folk songs and works by Anton Bruckner, Morten Lauridsen, Z. Randall Stroope, Gerald Near and Johannes Brahms.
The choral concert is presented by the School of Arts, Design, and Media Arts. Singers will be accompanied by pianist Lydia Clark and directed by music educator and SFCC instructor. Dr. Priscilla Zimmermann. A reception in honor of Dr. Zimmermann’s 20 years of service to Santa Fe Community College and her retirement will immediately follow the concert.
