SFCC announces Graduation Ceremony for EPA Environmental Technician Training
10 a.m. to noon, Friday, April 28
at Santa Fe Higher Education Center
Graduates participated in free five-week EPA grant-sponsored training to become job-ready

What:   Completion Ceremony for EPA Environmental Technician Training Program .                        

Who:     Eleven graduates, who will be job-ready upon completion of the program. They will have up to nine industry certifications after completing the intensive five-week training.

When:  10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 28

Where: Santa Fe Higher Education Center Lobby

Cost:  Free.                                        

Of Note: Graduates will receive certifications in the following:

  • General Hazardous Waste Site Worker (HAZWOPER)
  • Forklift Operator
  • OSHA Construction Standards
  • Confined Space Entry and Non-Entry Rescue
  • Solid Waste Management
  • Hazardous Waste Management (RCRA)
  • Phase I and Phase II Environmental Assessments
  • Environmental Sampling
  • DOT HazMat
  • First Aid CPR AED in the list of certifications.

In addition to the 172 hours of training, attendees met with environmental employers and Department of Workforce Solutions staff to provide guidance on résumé preparation and job interviewing skills.
