February library events feature faculty publications

SFCC Library February Events:

February 6
3 to 4 p.m.
Panel discussion, book sales and signing of Three Paths, One God: Traditional Scriptures and New Prayers by Aamna Nayyar, Min Kantrowitz and Victoria Reder.

The book brings together beliefs from Jewish, Christian and Muslim scripture, liturgy and prayer. The book represents diverse points of view and encourages religious understanding and tolerance. The event is sponsored by the President’s Diversity Advisory Committee.

Dr.  Aamna Nayyar holds a dental practice license in good standing with the Dental Board of California and Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. She has been serving as the Director of Department of Dental Health at SFCC since 2003. She is a reviewer and an author of dental publications including contributions to dental textbooks. She is a presenter at various regional, state, national and international seminars and conferences.

Book signing and performance: The Big Book of Blues Guitar: The History, the Greats—And How to Play by Andrew Leo Lovato.

Andrew “Andy” Leo Lovato, Ph.D., has been teaching guitar at SFCC for more than 30 years. He has taught more than 1,000 people to play guitar (one out of every 80 people in Santa Fe). He is the author of Santa Fe Hispanic Culture: Preserving Identity in a Tourist Town, The Year Zozobra Escaped: Featuring Zozobra’s Great Escape, and Elvis Romero and the Cosmic White Corvette. He holds masters and doctoral degrees from the University of New Mexico and a bachelor’s degree from College of Santa Fe. In 2008, he was selected as a Fulbright Scholar.
