SFCC Visual Arts Gallery opens “Celebration of the Book” exhibition with a reception 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15

Santa Fe Community College’s Visual Arts Gallery opens the art exhibition, “Celebration of the Book,” featuring contemporary book art with a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, February 15. The public is invited to the free reception with refreshments at the Visual Arts Gallery, 6401 Richards Avenue. The exhibition continues through Friday, March 22.  All the artists represented in the exhibition are members of the Santa Fe Book Arts Group or Libros New Mexico Book Arts Guild. They use a wide range of materials, designs, and techniques to create original works of sculptural, two-dimensional, or multi-dimensional book art.

Director of Art on Campus Linda Cassel said, “SFCC is thrilled to host the final event for the “Celebration of the Book.” This will give everyone an opportunity to see the full exhibition and to meet the artists who have enriched our community. SFCC has a strong Printmaking and Book Arts program, where many of the featured artists developed their talents.”

The Santa Fe Book Arts Group is a 501(c)3 non-profit that provides resources and opportunities for book artists to learn and share the skills of their craft. BAG consists of about 200 members who participate in monthly meetings, workshops, exhibits, and collaborative projects. https://santafebag.org/.
