Spencer Snyder’s Sculptural Ceramics pop-up show at Santa Fe Community College

Santa Fe Community College Visual Arts Gallery presents “Spencer Snyder’s Sculptural Ceramics,” a pop-up show in the main foyer of the Fine Arts Building, 6401 Richards Avenue. The show is open to view now through closing reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, August 24.  Refreshments will be served at the closing reception.

Director of Art on Campus Linda Cassel said, “SFCC hopes to have more of these short-term pop-up shows on campus. We’re excited to showcase the sculptural ceramics of one our talented students Spencer Snyder. We invite everyone to stop by and meet the artist at the closing reception.”

Spencer Snyder bio: Spencer Snyder’s long career has included performing with Nikolais Dance Theatre and the French Art Theater in New York City. His vocation in ceramics began after his move to Santa Fe in 2008. Spencer started With Micaceous Pottery at Santa Fe Clay with Anita Ginocchio and went on to earn an associate degree in Ceramics at SFCC in 2019. Spencer Snyder also has a master’s degree in choreography and a Bachelor of Arts in Cinema, both from UCLA and an A.A. in Interior Design. He has, as well, enjoyed several exhibitions of his photography.

Artist’s Statement: “My sculptural ceramic work celebrates form and volume. The sensuous shapes reflect my love of motion and the spiritual energy I find as I work in clay.” -Spencer Snyder 2023
