View the Automotive Technologies Program

Santa Fe Community College’s new state-of-the-art Automotive Technologies Center is an exciting place for students seeking a career as a skilled automotive mechanic. The 17,000 square-foot facility offers all the tools you need and more to excel at working on electronic systems and electrical and hybrid vehicle technology.

The center’s striking entryway sets the scene, showcasing automotive memorabilia and photographs donated by organizers of the Santa Fe Concorso, an annual gathering of rare vintage and classic cars. Inside, a chassis/suspension lab, an electric lab, and an electric vehicle/hybrid engine/power train lab offer Automotive Technologies Program students an immersive education in the latest technologies for automotive technician training.

Comprehensive automotive classes provide additional hands-on experience in repair bays with four vehicle lifts and two alignment lifts. The parts shop is precisely like what you’d find in a dealership. The flex lab houses special classes, displays, and community events, and an outdoor area hosts car shows, displays, and other functions.

The stunning ADA-compliant building has achieved LEED Gold Certification for its outstanding energy and environmental design, which includes a water harvesting and storage system. The center also offers a gender-neutral bathroom. Read our press release here.
