It’s hard to imagine, but the early registration for upcoming terms will begin next week! Please schedule your academic advising appointment as soon as possible, and work with our financial assistance team to ensure you have completed your 2022-2023 FAFSA! For those of you graduating this term – YAHOO! Please work with your academic advisor for next steps and options to transfer to your choice 4-year institution, or work with our Career Coach to explore job opportunities. AUTOMOTIVE TECHNOLOGIES CENTER
Open House 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 14
Students will have the opportunity to meet and talk with national Ford Motor Company Technical Placement Specialist Cesar Martinez. Martinez, who is bilingual, is happy to respond to questions in either Spanish or English. He will discuss résumé, writing tips, interviewing skills, opportunities in the automotive industry, and will share information about Ford Motor Company in four scheduled presentations: 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in English, and 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. in Spanish. Commencement Spring 2022
Congratulations to all the students that will be graduating this Spring! Santa Fe Community College will host our Spring 2022 Commencement ceremony on Saturday May 14. The in-person commencement will be held , at 10:00 a.m. at the William C. Witter Fitness Education Center on the SFCC campus. Graduating students please make sure to RSVP to the Commencement Invite before April 22. This will ensure that we create the best experience possible for our graduates. The invite was sent out to all prospective graduates earlier this week. Look for it in your SFCC email. More information to come.
Counseling Services Support groups offered for the second half of Spring semester!
Counseling Services is offering new rounds of telehealth groups, including a General Support Group and a Nursing Support Group. Each group will meet for 6 weeks beginning the week of April 4th, and each session will last one hour.
Drop-in General Support*: Wednesdays at 12 noon
- Stay engaged and supported through the final 8 weeks of Spring semester
- Learn techniques and skills to lower test anxiety
- Acquire healthy and fun methods of de-stressing
- Share your concerns and accomplishments through group support
- Drop-in Wednesdays @noon when you can or when you need to
Drop-in Nursing Support**: Fridays at 12 noon
- Receive the support you need to stay engaged in the nursing program
- Learn techniques to lower test anxiety, including meditation and breathing exercises
- Share your challenges in a safe, supportive, and confidential space
- Support your fellow nursing student peers and receive support from them

FINANCIAL AID WORKSHOPS
Santa Fe Community College students and prospective SFCC students can get assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online via Zoom from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on the dates listed above. FINANCIAL WELL-BEING AND LITERACY MINI-COURSE
Student Success has just launched a Financial Well-being and Literacy course to help our students ensure they are on a path to financial well-being and making good choices about their money and their future. FREE FOOD
The campus cupboard (Room 302E) is offering FREE FOOD this spring semester. Students can visit weekly during open hours to select their own products or pick up a prepacked box. We currently do not require and student identification. Personal hygiene (menstrual products) are available from Free Flow NM. You may schedule an appointment using the Campus Cupboards Booking link on MYSFCC. Check out the new QR code created for the Campus Cupboard which takes you quickly to the Campus Cupboard Bookings site. From there you can shop online or set up an appointment to shop. FREE MONEY
1) Are you a currently enrolled in the Spring semester and are experiences some financial challenges? Have you experienced a recent emergency and need just a little help? Apply today through the Student Emergency Fund. Applications can be found on your MYSFCC page under Resources (Emergency Assistance Fund). Applications are reviewed frequently, and funds are directly awarded to your account. (The funds cannot cover the cost of tuition or books.)
2) Did you know that you may be eligible forFREE GRANT MONEY? Have you completed your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If not, it’s easy, apply today at www.fafsa.gov. Even if you are taking a few classes, you may still be eligible. GENE HAAS SCHOLARSHIP
The Gene Haas Scholarship for Engineering Machining Technology AAS
Part-time students (6-11 credits) can receive a scholarship of $300 per semester, and full-time students (12 or more credits) can receive $500. New students are eligible, and continuing students must maintain a semester and cumulative GPA of 2.5. In addition, students must: declare a major in the Engineering Machining Technology AAS, be a New Mexico resident, and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Dreamers Financial Aid Application.

Solace Crisis Treatment Center offers a variation of services including Clinical, Sexual Education and Prevention and Advocacy. Clinical services include crisis stabilization, assessments, and therapy to survivors of sexual violence and other violent crimes. Sexual Education and Prevention is offered to schools, workplaces, and community. The Advocacy Department provides support and guidance to individuals, children and families who are or have experienced or witnessed violent crimes, including sexual assault and domestic violence. All services are provided in English and Spanish, with interpretation services available for other language access needs.

SFCC can help you pay for college with scholarships. One simple application puts you in consideration for state institutional and Foundation private scholarships. Scholarships are available for new and returning, part time and full-time students to help pay for college for the upcoming academic year. Scholarships are also available for second generation college students, Veterans, Native American students, Hispanic students and students with disabilities (must be registered with the SAS department at kayla.garcia1@sfcc.edu). SFCC offers performance-based scholarships through Contract for a Better Tomorrow (CBT).

STUDENT EMPLOYMENT AT SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE!!!

Student Work Study is a financial aid need-based program that provides a student funds earned through part-time employment currently paying at a rate of $12.32 per hour (Beginning July 1, 2022, the rate of pay will be $15.15 per hour). Eligible students can work up to 20 hours per week and work is scheduled around your school schedule.
To be eligible, students must meet the following requirements:
- Completed the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 FAFSA
- Enrolled now and in at least 3-degree related credit hours for the summer semester

UNM – SFCC HC AMBASSADORS PROGRAM
Applications are being accepted for Fall 2022 SFCC students who are interested in pursuing healthcare careers. This federally funded program provides opportunities for students from economically or educationally disadvantaged backgrounds to explore healthcare options while also offering tutoring support to be successful in college. The Donohue Family SkillPointe Scholarship Contest is open to applicants who are U.S. citizens of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, and are sixteen (16) years of age or older at the time of application.
