Santa Fe Community College announces listening sessions regarding presidential search

Santa Fe Community College’s Governing Board announces that it will begin the process of seeking a permanent president with a series of free listening sessions open to the public on Sept. 6 and Sept. 7 in the SFCC Board Room 223 on campus at 6401 Richards Ave.

The public is invited to attend one of the following listening sessions:
Thursday, Sept. 6: noon to 1 p.m., 2 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 7: 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m.

Governing Board member Martha Romero announced at SFCC’s recent Convocation welcome address to faculty and students that the governing board selected the national company Academic Search to facilitate the process of hiring a permanent president. The search process will continue through the spring semester. Interim president Cecilia Cervantes, Ph.D. has agreed to stay until a permanent president is hired.

“Listening sessions are forums to gain feedback,” said governing board member Martha Romero, Ph.D. “The sessions will be used to help the board gather feedback to help identify the characteristics of the best president to lead the college.”
