Janie Milner holds a B.S. in Animal Production and an M.S. in Zoology from Texas Tech University in Lubbock Texas. She came to SFCC in 1999 as Lead Biology Instructor and served as the Science Department Chair 2003 through 2010, and in 2013. She has been recognized in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. She works with The Wildlife Center in Espanola. Prior to coming to SFCC she taught at Central New Mexico Community College, worked at the Albuquerque BioPark, studied Hantavirus at the University of New Mexico, and worked for the National Biological Survey studying mammals.

Janie teaches Microbiology for Health Science, Biology for Health Science, and Anatomy and Physiology. She hopes to pass on her curiosity and respect for living organisms to students, and give them the confidence to make wise decisions concerning health and environmental issues.
