Under Construction: Auto Tech Center

Construction has begun on the new, 17,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Automotive Technologies Center on the southeast corner of campus. Please share these contacts should anyone need directions to the construction site or information:
Karin Pitman, SFCC Automotive Technologies Center Project Manager at 428-1720

The college thanks our local voters who supported the need for educating more skilled automotive technicians when they approved the $7 million bond to build the center. The ATC is designed to become eligible to earn a LEED Gold energy designation using various sustainable strategies. The architectural renderings from Greer Stafford/SJCF ARCHITECTURE, Inc. are posted online. The Automotive Technologies Program offers multiple certificates as well as an Associate in Applied Science degree, all of which lead to in-demand, good-paying jobs.

A message from Aamna Nayyar, Director Department of Dental Health, and member of SFCC’s PDAC:

“[I’m] sharing with you the book that I co-authored/compiled. The book is about religious tolerance and hopefully, it will be my small contribution toward world peace. Amen.”

From book description on Amazon.com:

Three paths, One God. Jewish, Christian, Muslim. Scripture, liturgy, and contemporary prayer. Three women, each following her faith, praying and seeking, marking times of our days, celebrating the unfolding of our lives, pursuing sacred paths toward God. Thus, this book!

As active practitioners of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, the authors recognize the power of religious belief and practice in our lives.
