Staff at New Mexico Energy$mart Academy

Amanda Hatherly:

Amanda is the Director of the New Mexico Energy$mart Academy and Center of Excellence for Green Building and Energy Efficiency at Santa Fe Community College. She is on the Board of the Santa Fe Area Homebuilders’ Association and is a member of the Sustainable Santa Fe Commission. She is regularly invited to speak about energy efficiency, healthy homes and green building training issues around the country including the MIT Women in Clean Energy Symposium. Amanda is the Principle Investigator for a National Science Foundation grant creagting building science online simulations and games.

Bill Eckman:

Bill currently serves as the primary trainer for the New Mexico Energy$mart Academy (WAP). Through the Academy, Bill brings nearly 10 years of experience in energy and material efficient construction and energy auditing to both classroom and field-based training throughout New Mexico. While HERS, EPA, and numerous BPI certifications follow Bill into training, it is his experience as an energy auditor that helps him connect with his students. Whether it is curriculum for the Academy, or onsite mobile home training, Bill can be found walking and talking weatherization all over New Mexico.

Jeffrey Granger:

Jeff began his energy training career in 1979 while working for a home building school and energy software developer, The Cornerstones Energy Group. He taught energy auditors throughout New England, in Pennsylvania, and in California. Today, Jeffrey teaches at the New Mexico Energy$mart Academy (Santa Fe, NM) and in the PV Academy and Weatherization Technician programs at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque. In his spare time, Jeffrey is a volunteer at the New Mexico Chapter of The Green Building Council and the New Mexico Solar Energy Association.

Janet Kerley:

Janet Kerley has been an OSHA Authorized Instructor for Construction and General Industry Standards since 1989. She served as Primary Liaison for the Academy of Certified Hazardous Material Managers to the ANSI Committee Z490 which developed the ANSI Standard 'Accepted Criteria for Safety, Health and Environmental Training (ANSI Z490.1-2009). Janet is also the Program Director and Instructor for SFCC's EPA Certified Lead Training Program.
