Governing Board Approves Polices

Paramedic Applications Open Now
The Emergency Medical Services Institute is accepting Paramedic Training Program applications through August 4 for the year-long certificate program that starts October 16.

Artisan Spirulina Immersion Week
Santa Fe Community College’s Training Center Corporation and Apogee Spirulina host Artisan Spirulina Immersion Week with Intro to Aquaponics, July 31 through August 4.
Registration is underway. The $1,600 fee includes training and materials including a spirulina starter culture kit, and breakfasts and lunches. For a tentative agenda and to register visit apogeespirulina.com.
Limited scholarships are available for SFCC students and instructors.
Letters of interest for the scholarships must be submitted before July 6. Email letters and questions to biofuels@sfcc.edu.
Banner Class for Faculty and Staff
This 3-week class focuses on various aspects of Banner and is taught by Norbert Utz from 9 to 10:30 a.m., Thursdays, July 6, 13 and 20 in room 611E. Maximum class size is 15 people, so sign up now. To register contact Jeff Hood, Professional Development Specialist, ext. 1843.
Sign Up for Renewal and Wholeness Retreat
Give yourself the gift of slowing down and looking within in pursuit of what brings life into our lives and work. In this two-weekend retreat, you are invited to explore issues of vocation, identity and integrity through self-reflection, soulful poetry, deep listening, respectful inquiry, silent walks outdoors and more. Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., July 28 and 29 and August 4 and 5. Open to all SFCC staff and faculty and facilitated by Jeff Hood. SFCC Leadership Academy Accepting Applications for Class of 2018
SFCC Leadership Academy graduates complete an eight-month training to enhance communication skills, build community and develop leadership and management skills to better serve our students. Applications are available on MySFCC for the Leadership, Graduate and Supervisor classes.

The scholarship application for City of Santa Fe/SFCC Foundation Veterans Scholarship is available. The application deadline has been extended to Friday, July 21.

DeafTEC Workshop
A workshop to provide strategies to improve access to learning for deaf and hard of hearing students in a mainstreamed classroom will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 9 in the Jemez Rooms. There will be panel discussions by deaf and hard of hearing students and faculty/interpreters.
Facilitated by DeafTEC staff from Austin Community College and funded through SFCC’s Perkins Grant and SFCC Foundation. Working lunch provided. A $125 stipend available to adjunct and full time faculty. For more information and to register, contact Jeff Hood, ext. 1843.
Course Studio to Canvas Workshop Offerings
Beginning this fall semester, Course Studio in MySFCC will no longer be available. Online Classes will be conducted through Canvas. If you have never used Canvas, please join us for a Course Studio to Canvas Workshop this summer. All workshops will be in room 416. See the schedule.
