Update from the President: College Open but Main Campus, HEC facility closed through Dec. 18

Dear Campus Community, Congratulations on completing the fall 2020 semester during this extraordinary time.

I’m writing to update you that the college’s Main Campus and the Santa Fe Higher Education Center will remain closed to students, the public, and employees through the end of the semester on Dec. 18. Of course, until then everyone will continue to have access to all of SFCC’s online and remote services via the SFCC website. The college closes for winter break Saturday, Dec. 19, through Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, and reopens Monday, Jan. 4.

During winter break, please direct questions and concerns related to COVID-19 to these resources:

  1. NM Department of Health COVID-19: Hotline 1-855-600-3453 and website
  2. NMDOH Coronavirus Microsite
  3. NMDOH Non-health related COVID-19 questions: 1-833-551-0518
  4. Your Healthcare Provider

Janelle Moya and the Contact Tracing Team will resume being available for COVID-19 questions and concerns as well as reporting positive student cases beginning Jan. 4, 2021.

If you would like to report a college-related case of COVID-19 during the break, please email Janelle Moya at janelle.moya@sfcc.edu.

Please continue to practice COVID-safe best practices to prevent the spread of the virus and potentially causing your loved ones, community members, or yourself to become ill. If you must leave your house, always wear a mask, social distance at 6 feet or more, and wash your hands frequently. Avoid indoor gatherings and events. Do enjoy the outdoors and make sure to get plenty of exercise and sunshine. We look forward to the next year and the coming of the vaccine!

Sincerely,
Becky Rowley, Ph.D.
President
