Continuing Education – Personal Enrichment

These classes will help you or the kids develop or expand on the joy of creativity.

ART
Continuing Education art classes are designed for creative people of all ability levels. Continuing Education classes are taught by professional artists (but none offer credit toward a degree). Some of the classes provide all of the supplies; others require you to purchase materials. All supply lists are available online.

COOKING
Becoming a better cook could lead to more family time in the kitchen and around the dinner table. Nothing brings people together like delicious food!

CRAFTS
Enthusiasm and a desire to learn are the only requirements for our crafts classes. Continuing Education students learn new skills and make crafts to give as gifts or keep for themselves. For supply list, look on the website after the course title under “Syllabus Available.”

CREATIVE WRITING
SFCC’s talented creative writing faculty are writers themselves and know the ropes. Try out an email course or an in-person workshop and develop your own narrative arc.

DANCE
To be able to dance widens the world of social opportunities available to you. Take a dance class and increase the enjoyment in your life.

FITNESS AND WELLNESS
Our fitness and wellness classes allow you to strengthen your body and mind through active participation in a course such as aikido or to study the nuances of good health management through a variety of lecture-and-discussion courses.

HOME AND GARDEN
Design and decorate your home inside and out. Our staff are talented professionals who will help you create the home or garden of your dreams.

KIDS’ STUFF
Our kids’ classes blend fun and learning for experiences that children will remember for a lifetime. Children and teens build skills and learn new ideas to assist their understanding of our world.

LANGUAGES
SFCC Continuing Education offers a first-rate Spanish program that will take you step-by-step to fluency. We also offer French and Italian classes for anyone who cares to broaden their proficiency.

LEISURE
We have so little leisure time these days, we should get really good at using it. A range of topics, from genealogy research to pistol shooting, are offered in this category.

MONEY MATTERS
We have so little spare cash these days, we should get really good at using it. Learn how to plan to have more gold in your golden years with these courses.

MUSIC
Using your voice or playing an instrument, Continuing Education’s music classes teach you the fundamentals so that you can develop your skills at your own pace.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Whether you are a novice with your first camera or an advanced photographer learning how to move into the digital age, SFCC has a course that will help you achieve your goals. Discover your hidden talents or heighten your abilities.

The outdoors beckons, and you can respond to the call! Join our faculty for a wonderful exploration of the Southwest. Whether you want to hike the terrain or sit comfortably in a classroom discussion, Southwest Explorations will expand your understanding of this area and the cultures it influenced.
