What is Math Jam?

Math Jam is a FREE intensive math refresher program designed to help students:

  • Prepare for their upcoming math classes
  • Study to retake the math placement test*
  • Learn how to navigate SFCC’s free academic support resources

*Students who retake the placement test and place into a higher math course are guaranteed a seat in the new course this fall.

Who can sign up?

Math Jam is for SFCC degree- and certificate-seeking students who placed into developmental math (MATH 101, MATH 102, or MATH 1215).

How much does it cost?

It is completely FREE.

Do I have to register or can I just show up?

Please register so we know who you are and can prepare to help you in advance.  We also want to be sure we have sufficient resources (and snacks!) for all who attend.  But sure, even if you decide at the last minute, please come join us. Complete the Math Summer Bridge Registration Form below to sign up!

Where is Math Jam happening?

All Math Jam sessions will be held on the SFCC campus in Room 221.  COVID-19 safety protocols will be observed.

Do I have to attend all 3 sessions?

Students should come to all three sessions.  Math Jam is single mini-course offered over 3 days.  The material covered will be different each day, and you will get the most benefit by attending every session.  As an extra incentive, students who do complete the entire Jam will receive a $25 Target gift card.

Join the Jam and jumpstart your math success this fall!
