Santa Fe Community College’s January 2026 Review for New Mexico Government Results & Opportunity funded programs in partnership with New Mexico Independent Community Colleges (NMICC) and New Mexico Department of Higher Education.

Since October 2024 Santa Fe Community College has applied the Government Results & Opportunity (Workforce GRO) funds to develop and deliver noncredit workforce programs. These programs provide New Mexico workers with accelerated opportunities to upskill in career pathways such as telecommunications/broadband, early childhood education, computer aided-design, 3D printing, information technology, and film production. Workforce GRO provides funding for postsecondary training that is not eligible for other forms of financial assistance or scholarships.
715 SFCC students, have earned 1,573 industry certifications over the last 18-months through the Workforce GRO programs, and over 100 students have participated in pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. These workforce opportunities are made available to New Mexico residents 18+ years old with a high school diploma or equivalent. The diversity of the programs have provided SFCC with insight about how students use short-term and accelerated workforce training to advance their own careers and increase their wage-earning power.
