CAMPUS CENTER GAME DAYS

Ongoing, Starting Week of June 16, 2025 in the campus center.

Beginning mid-June, SFCC Student Ambassadors will host regular pop-up game sessions in the Campus Center.  Enjoy casual games like cornhole, Connect Four, and more!  These drop-in activities are designed to help students de-stress, make new friends, and enjoy time on campus.  Specific times will be coordinated around the ambassadors’ schedules to ensure consistency and maximum participation throughout the summer term.

CHEESY TUNA CASSEROLE COOK KIT

The Campus Cupboard is excited to announce a limited number of Cook Kits! Everything you need to make a nourishing, easy to prepare meal, packed in one bag and ready to take home.  Each Cook Kit includes all the ingredients and a simple recipe to help you create a delicious dish with minimal stress and maximum flavor.  Designed with students and families in mind, these kits make cooking affordable, accessible, and fun.  Pick up your Campus Cupboard Cook Kit beginning August 18th.  Please use the QR code on the attached flyer to RSVP.  Good food shouldn’t be complicated.  Cook Kits are limited in number, and will be first come, first served.

CAREER COACH 

Check out SFCC’s Career Coach your one stop shop for job postings, resume writing, and career exploration.  You can quickly apply for any job posted in Career Coach.  You can also take a career assessment that identifies our primary areas of strength and provides suggestions for different career paths to explore. 

CAREER FAIR ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 15TH

Are you looking for a job? Curious about local employers and job opportunities?  Attend the Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 in the Main Building and Campus Center.  Local employers will be on campus to speak with students and community members about job opportunities. 

CHILDCARE- MAKE SURE YOU’RE ON THE KIDS CAMPUS WAITLIST 

Are you in need of childcare?  When a spot becomes available at the Kids Campus, students get priority placement.  Kids campus wants to support student parents and hopes that those needing childcare will get on the waitlist.  Children of degree-seeking SFCC students, SFCC employees, and full-time students at the Higher Education Center are prioritized for placement to support a two-generation philosophy of education at the college.  Visit the Kids Campus website for more information.  Student receive a 10% discount on the cost of Kids Campus and NM Early Childhood Education and Care Development offers Child Care Assistance to income-eligible students.

DENTAL PROGRAM APPLICATIONS BEING ACCEPTED NOW

SFCC’s Dental Department is accepting Certificate in Dental Assisting, Associate degree in Dental Health and Certificate in Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA) applications for Fall 2025, from now until class is full. FALL STUDENT EMPLOYMENT

FREE DIAPERS AVAILABLE THROUGH DIAPER DEPOT AT SFCC EXCHANGE

SFCC students, faculty, staff, and community members can now receive a free monthly supply of diapers and wipes—thanks to a new partnership between the SFCC Exchange and Food Depot’s Diaper Depot.  Sizes range from newborn to size 8.  To participate, enroll at the Campus Cupboard (Room LL305) or if you already have a CC#, email joanna.johnston@sfcc.edu with your information   Please see attached flyer. 

FINANCIAL WELL-BEING AND LITERACY COURSE

Student affairs has launched a Financial Well-being and Literacy course to help our students ensure they are on a path to financial well-being and making good choices about their money and their future. Nusenda and SFCC have a co-branded Financial Wellness website with lots of useful information and tools:  https://santafecc.teachbanzai.com/wellness.  You can access the course by clicking on the “Financial Literacy” button on the Welcome section of the MySFCC homepage.

FREE FOOD AND SNACKS

The Campus Cupboard (Room LL305, lower level of the West Wing) offers free groceries and snacks to the SFCC community.  You can shop for groceries once a week and grab up to two snacks a day.  The Campus Cupboard is open from 8:15 am to 4:45 PM, Monday through Friday when campus is open.  The Exchange also has kitchen items, clothing, and diaper program enrollment.  No student ID is required—just a quick 5-minute enrollment.  Menstrual products are provided by Free Flow New Mexico.  Questions?  Email cupboard@sfcc.edu or call 505-428

FREE MONEY    

1) Are you currently enrolled in this semester and are experiencing some financial challenges?  Have you experienced a recent emergency and need just a little help?  Apply today through the Student Emergency Fund.  The application can be found on your MySFCC page und Resources (Emergency Assistance Fund).  Applications are reviewed frequently, and funds are directly awarded to your account. (The funds cannot cover the cost of tuition or books.)

2)  Did you know that you may be eligible for FREE GRANT MONEY?  Have you completed your Free Application for Federal Student Ais (FASFSA).  If not, it’s easy, apply today at www.fafsa.gov .  Even if you are taking a few classes, you may still be eligible.  Form more information, please contact our financial aid office at 505-428-1268.

HUMANITIES REQUIREMENT?  LEARN PORUGUESE THIS FALL

Consider enrolling in PORT 1110: Beginning Portuguese, a dynamic and engaging Hi-Flex course that lets you attend in person or remotely.  This revived course introduces the essentials of Portuguese language and culture, offering a fresh opportunity for students to explore one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.  Class begins August 18, meets on Tuesday & Thursdays from 5:30 – 7:15pm.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION AVAILABLE NOW

Pay for college with scholarships.  One simple application puts you in consideration for State institutional and Foundation private scholarships.  Scholarships are available for new and returning, part time and full-time students to help pay for college for the upcoming academic year.  Scholarships are also available for second generation colleges.  For more information and to apply go tohttps://www.sfcc.edu/offices/financial-aid/  If you have questions or need assistance, email the Financial Aid Office at finaid@sfcc.edu from your SFCC student email account.  Make sure to include your Student ID number in the email.

STATE OF NEW MEXICO INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

TRANSFER FAIR, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

Interested in transferring to a 4-year college?  Representatives from 4-year colleges and universities will be on campus in the Main Building Hallway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17.  Come meet with representatives and learn more about their academic programs and important information for prospective transfer students.  if you’re planning on transferring to a 4-year college or if you are interested in other academic opportunities aft SFCC, this event is for you.

WIN PROJECT

The WIN project employs four Navigators who are actively working to recruit individuals who are unemployed or underemployed or are looking to skill up. Benson is currently assigned to SFCC. WIN Navigators focus is to support low-income individuals, people of color, and people recovering from substance use disorders or those who have been incarcerated to place them into training programs, and connect them with services, resources, employers, and further training to support their success.  Please visit the website with this link https://www.nnm-win.com/community-support
