SFCC Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Club students attend IMEX

Three student members of the SFCC Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Club, joined 100 students from universities in the United States, Canada and Mexico  at the Future Leaders Forum in conjunction with the IMEX Trade Show. They attended two days of seminars featuring industry leaders, as well as a day on the showroom floor. The Future Leaders Forum has been developed to encourage students to start a successful career in the hospitality, meetings and events industry. The joint initiative by IMEX, MPI and MCI has taken place globally since 2003.

Students gain a deeper understanding of the meetings and hospitality industry and take the next step in their career.  Additionally, networking with hotels around the world, the students were given the opportunity to meet possible future employers.

The IMEX America show had 13,000 attendees with  more 3,500 exhibitors from around the world this year making it the largest hospitality trades show in North America.  A European show of the same magnitude is held in May in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Las Vegas 2018 conference focused on five themes: live and experiential meetings;  conferences; legacy; event technology; wellness; corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability.

Four new SFCC students will be attending the show in September 2019 in Las Vegas.
