SFCC Arts and Design student Jesus Avena has won a national competition for emerging artists with disabilities.
Only 15 students were selected nationally. He also won an “Award of Excellence.” He went to Washington, D.C. the week of Oct. 21 to attend workshops provided as part of this award.
The above slide show features his three submitted images. His work will be part of a national traveling exhibition for up to two years, titled Connected.
