About the Program

Our program offers students the opportunity to acquire skills in cross-cultural communication and quick decision making during instant translation. The curriculum includes ASL language​, immersive interaction, and real-life orientation.

Courses cover basic ASL linguistics, an introduction to Deaf Culture, instruction of receptive/expressive skills, fingerspelling, numbers, and classifiers. Also, grammatical structure and syntax.

The World Languages Department at SFCC offers courses in a variety of languages, including:
