Massage Therapy – Thai Massage
Program Goals
SFCC’s Thai Massage Therapy program is a 650+ hour program which prepares students to take the National Massage Board licensing examination, grants students a Certificate in Thai Massage Therapy and an opportunity to receive an Associate’s degree in Massage Therapy. New students receive a comprehensive education in Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Contraindications and Pathology along with 400~ hours in the practice and theory of Thai Massage Therapy including learning how to incorporate cupping, herbal compress balls, tools and assessment into treatments. Students perform regular clinic hours with the public and are fully prepared for a career in Thai Massage therapy. Licensed Massage Therapists (LMTs) can receive an advanced Certificate in Thai Massage Therapy with ~400 hours in the practice and theory of Thai Massage Therapy.
For those interested in other techniques, SFCC’s Massage Therapy Program also offers training in Western/Swedish style massage.
The median annual wage for massage therapists is $46,910 and employment is projected to grow 32 percent by 2030, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Program Admission Requirements
Prospective candidates for the Massage Therapy Program must be 18 years of age and have a High School Diploma or the equivalent.
Candidates’ applications will be reviewed by lead faculty who will schedule interviews with the candidates.
