About the Program
If the precision and detail of engineering plans appeals to you, then the engineering technologies program might be a good fit. This program combines computer-based modeling with conventional methods in engineering graphics communication to help solve basic design-related problems. The program includes an AS degree in General Engineering and Engineering Technologies as well as an AAS degree and Certificates in Engineering Technologies.
The AS degree in General Engineering and Engineering Technology program is for those who plan to transfer to universities to earn bachelor’s degrees in engineering or engineering technologies. The courses are patterned after the lower-division courses at universities so you’ll get most of your required general education courses plus some core requirements in your chosen major.
The AAS degree and Certificates in Engineering Technologies are designed to prepare students for technician positions in drafting and design, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, micro and smart grid technologies, and manufacturing.
