SFCC announces Santa Fe Creative Coding Initiative Student Showcase from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 10 at Santa Fe Higher Education Center

Event will highlight work by local students participating in the Santa Fe Creative Coding Initiative

Santa Fe Community College announces the Santa Fe Creative Coding Initiative (SFCCI) will present its second SFCCI Student Showcase, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center, 1950 Siringo Road. The event is free and open to the public.

Santa Fe Creative Coding Initiative 2024 Student Showcase

SFCCI is a community partnership, providing challenge-based learning opportunities in digital creativity and coding to learners and educators throughout Santa Fe, with support from Apple’s Community Education Initiative. Since the launch of SFCCI, more than 1500 students have participated.

SFCCI Director Jim Sanborn said,Our showcase features the imagination and creativity of our learners through the apps, app prototypes, and digital media they have developed throughout the year. Join us and experience the ideas, passion, and focus students bring to these showcase projects.”

The SFCCI Student Showcase will spotlight content produced by students working with SFCCI during this school year. SFCCI has learning labs at Santa Fe High School, Milagro Middle School, 21st Century Learning Elementary Schools, Santa Fe Community College, and Santa Fe Indian School. Other key partners include STEM Santa Fe and the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Fe.

The 2025 Student Showcase features projects from all SFCCI partners, some highlights include:

  • “La Fonda Experience” Art Curation App
  • Santa Fe from a Youth Perspective Film, produced for City of Santa Fe/Sister Cities International
  • Over a dozen App Prototypes by 21st Century Learning elementary students.
