SFCC announces financial aid, loaned laptops, hot spots and other resources available to most students this Spring semester

Vaccine requirements begin for students on January 18 when the semester begins

Santa Fe Community College announces that financial aid, loaned laptops and other resources are available for most students this Spring semester. Registration is open and classes begin on January 18.

President Becky Rowley said, “SFCC knows that the pandemic has impacted so many people’s lives. Many people are hoping to get a new start in the New Year. We invite everyone to explore their options to grow professionally or gain a new skill.”

“We will again be offering a blend of online and on-campus classes in a variety of subjects,” Rowley added. “We also offer flexible scheduling for those who are working.”

The college offers degrees and certificates in more than 60 academic and training programs, as well as a variety of non-credit and workforce training disciplines.

In addition to federal aid, state-funded Lottery and Opportunity scholarships are available to students who enroll at the college. For Financial Aid information visit https://www.sfcc.edu/offices/financial-aid/ or email finaid@sfcc.edu.

Many free services are available to students including tutoring, assistance with online learning needs, mental health counseling, library resources, a Veterans Resource Center, a Student Resource Center (to help access community resources) and Campus Cupboard Food Pantry. The college is also loaning laptops and hot spots to credit students. Students do not need to attend full-time to access these computer resources.

The college also began offering a new tuition structure last fall that allows students who wish to take 12 to 18 credit hours to pay for only 12 credit hours. Students will be charged tuition per credit hour up to 12 credit hours. After 12 credit hours, there will be no additional tuition charge up to and including 18 credit hours. Additional credit hours beyond 18 will be charged at the regular credit hour rate.

Spring Semester 2022 credit and noncredit class registration is available 24/7 at www.sfcc.edu. Spring semester begins Jan. 18. Students, employees and those who are going to be on campus in Spring 2022 are required to be vaccinated for Covid-19.

The college has developed a guide to registering detailed at https://www.sfcc.edu/get-started/apply-and-register/. All students are encouraged to work with an academic advisor. Remote appointments or in-person appointments can be made by emailing advisor@sfcc.edu or calling 505-428-1275.
