Julia Furry was born and raised in Grand Junction, Colorado. After high school, she moved to Arizona and earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Arizona State University. She worked in sales and marketing until her father, who owned a dealership, encouraged her to go into the automobile business.

Her first job was in sales at a Honda dealership. After that, she went to work for Henry Brown, who was the #1 Chevrolet dealership in the country. She was part of the team that was instrumental in building Brown and Brown Nissan to #2 in the country for new vehicle sales and #1 for customer service and sales experience, averaging over 1,200 new Nissans a month.

She then held a management position with Ford Financial, heading up the team for the Financial Approval Division of Primus, which was Mazda, Kia, Suzuki, Land Rover and Jaguar.

Later moving to New Mexico, Julia worked with the Performance Auto Group and become part owner of Furry Buick GMC here in Santa Fe, selling the dealership in 2015.

She is very involved with the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and serves as Chair of the Workforce Solutions Group. She is Chair of the Automotive Technology Advisory Committee at Santa Fe Community College.

In addition to a bachelor of science degree, she holds an MBA from Keller Graduate School in Chicago.
