Colleen Lynch has been teaching and tutoring math at SFCC full- or part-time since 1997. She directed the SFCC’s Tutoring Center from 1998 to 2004. She also has taught at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. When not teaching, Colleen enjoys reading, hiking, and working in her garden.
Colleen began as a Learning Lab Manager for Developmental Studies and then became tutor coordinator, grant writer, and Tutoring Center Director. She has been lead faculty and either chair or co-chair for the Mathematics Department since 2006, and has chaired the Curriculum Committee since 2014. She has gained a reputation for being an academic leader who is highly respected. Her passion for student success is evident in the work that she has done at the college for the past 25 years as well as at the state level through her involvement in the New Mexico Statewide General Education Steering Committee. She holds a B.A. from the College of William and Mary as well as an M.A. in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College.
