Santa Fe Community College’s Head of Printmaking and Book Arts Patricia Pearce was stunned when it was announced at the July 26 opening of the DWELL art exhibition that several of her students had created a special endowment in her honor. The fund was created by the students with Amy Parrish leading the intiative. The donations have come from businesses and donors from Santa Fe, as well as former and present students.

Amy Parrish announced, “Join us in celebrating Patricia’s creative vision by donating to a designated fund that will provide materials, equipment and supplies that support the growth and expansion of the Printmaking and Book Arts Department for future generations of artists.” She added, “Please make your contribution in any amount to the SFCC Foundation noting the Patricia Pearce Endowment.”

Contributions for the fund may be mailed to SFCC Foundation,  Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave. Santa Fe, NM 87508.

DWELL is the college’s first installation show in SFCC’s Visual Arts Gallery.

The exhibition is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Sept. 6.
