Luna Community College is the only comprehensive community college in northeastern New Mexico. As a two-year institution of higher education, LCC offers over 30 areas of study and enjoys an outstanding reputation for its caliber of facilities, teaching methods, curricula and dedication to excellence.

The college is located in the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountain Range overlooking the city of Las Vegas, N.M. The LCC main campus sits on a 75-acre site. Fourteen modern building with state-of the art equipment and facilities house the instructional and student support programs.

LCC was established in 1970 under the Area Vocational School Act to serve the vocational training needs of the service area surrounding Las Vegas.

With a starting class of 25 students, LCC has grown to serve more than 2,000 students on the main campus and satellite instructional centers in Springer and Santa Rosa. These satellites, in addition to the main campus, serve participants of the Las Vegas City Schools, West Las Vegas Municipal Schools, Springer Municipal Schools, Maxwell Municipal Schools, Mora Independent Schools, Santa Rosa Consolidated Schools and Wagon Mound Public Schools which are within San Miguel, Mora, Guadalupe and Colfax Counties.
