SFCC Foundation Provides Student Emergency Funds

Posted in: , ,

The effects of the COVID-19 crisis have been heartbreaking. Although the college has responded to its best ability to address the rapid transformation of their educational experience, students are being impacted, directly and indirectly, and in multiple ways: taking online classes for the first time, family situations, loss of income, loss of childcare, drastic changes to their daily lives, etc. For many, their situation is dire. To help alleviate the economic pressures in these challenging times, SFCC Foundation has established the Student Emergency Assistance Fund.

Most students are only able to attend SFCC thanks to the support of college, state and/or federal financial aid. Now, they face the reality of trying to balance continuing their studies with the demands of routine expenses such as rent or groceries. The Student Emergency Assistance Fund can help.

Eligible students may receive up to $300 to cover urgent costs:

  • Internet access, hotspots, laptops
  • Food
  • Rent
  • Prescriptions, medical needs
  • Other necessities

The Student Emergency Assistance Fund will provide students the opportunity to not have to choose between their education at SFCC and other urgent demands.
