Operation Bandana New Mexico

Nursing students and CNAs Erin Price and Robin Carrillo Ortiz have been making masks to help the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. They started the Facebook group, Operation Bandana New Mexico in March to make face masks for NM health care workers. Note, these are not N95 masks, but masks for extra protection.

Follow the Operation Bandana New Mexico link for more information, to volunteer, or to request masks for your organization.

The group provides mask materials and needs people to sew at all levels. Please disclose your sewing skill level so they can determine what is appropriate as some of the material is like gold!

Robin Carrillo Ortiz is a Level One nursing student and CNA who chose this career to help those in need during times of crisis and life changes. It appears her career is off to an interesting start.

Erin M. Price is a Level One nursing student and CNA. She works at the Campus Cupboard and is the Vice President of the STEM Club. She was selected as Student of the Month in March and her parking spot is currently a great place to get WiFi.

Both students are LANL Foundation and SFCC Foundation scholars.
