Department of Labor Secretary tour

As part of her America at Work tour, U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer visited SFCC on June 24 to explore programs in trades and workforce development. The tour spotlighted the college’s hands-on training and its impact on regional economic growth.
Collaboration for Voting Forums

SFCC will host two public election forums this fall: a City Council Candidate Forum on Sept. 3 and a Mayoral Candidate Forum on Sept. 17, both at 5:30 p.m. in the Jemez Rooms. The events are free, open to the public, and part of a collaborative voter engagement effort with The Santa Fe New Mexican, KSFR, and KSWV.
SFCC Serves as Local Host Site for Statewide Summer Reading Program

Santa Fe Community College was proud to serve as one of the host sites for New Mexico’s innovative Summer Reading Program, which aims to empower 10,000 students—from incoming kindergarteners to outgoing eighth graders—with targeted reading instruction. The free program offers small-group sessions led by trained literacy instructors, helping students strengthen essential reading skills and build the confidence needed for academic success.
As a local site, SFCC provided a convenient and welcoming setting for families in Northern New Mexico to access this impactful statewide initiative. By supporting early literacy development, the college continues its commitment to educational equity and community engagement.
