Sexual Misconduct

Includes inappropriate sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature. Sexual misconduct includes non-consensual sexual intercourse, non-consensual sexual contact, sexual exploitation, interpersonal relationship violence, sex/gender-based stalking and sexual harassment. While SFCC’s standards and definitions may differ from the New Mexico Code, sexual misconduct often overlaps with crimes of rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, dating/relationship violence and domestic violence and by electronic means such as by social media applications, telephone, email, and texting commonly referred to as “sexting,” “cyberstalking,” and “cyberbullying.” (See Policy 2-22 Student Sexual Harassment.)
