SUMMARY:Reception for The Miracle of Oneness exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The Miracle of Oneness\nby\nDanielle Rae Miller \n“While walking in the fields around SFCC and IAIA last fall\, I found seed pods that reminded me of the stars. This winter\, I collected some of them\, and placed them here in a very loose mapping of the stars on the day they were installed. The title is from these lines of text from the Hermetic Emerald Tablet\, (translated from the original Arabic into Latin): Quod est inferius est sicut quod est superius. Et quod est superius est sicut quod est inferius\, ad perpetranda miracula rei unius. Translated to English\, and simplified– the ways earth and sky reflect each other\, in concept and form\, is evidence of the miracle of oneness. It is a core belief of mine.” \nDanielle received a BFA from RISD with a focus on printmaking and an MFA from UNM. She has taught at UNM and IAIA and is currently reaching at CNM. \nReception: 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday\, March 2 in Fine Arts Room 723D\, ripple space. \nArtist talk: 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.\, Monday\, March 4 in Fine Arts Room 722. \n
