Learn All About the Higher Education Center at an Open House
August 2, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Santa Fe Higher Education Center (SFHEC) will host an Open House from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the campus, 1950 Siringo Road. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Join in welcoming the newest SFHEC partner Northern New Mexico College (NNMC) and meet with faculty and academic advisers from NNMC and other partners, including New Mexico Highlands University (NMHU), University of New Mexico (UNM) and Santa Fe Community College. The SFHEC brings all partner universities under one roof to offer complete programs via in-class and online courses.
The Santa Fe Small Business Development Center, which is also located at the SFHEC, will welcome visitors as well.
Advisers from the institutions will be available to answer questions. Representatives of SFCC will talk about how to get started at the community college, then transfer to one of the universities at the Center. Completing a higher education degree in this way typically saves students $10,000 or more in tuition.
SFCC President Randy Grissom said, “Our partnership with NNMC offers an excellent educational pathway for SFCC graduates who would like to pursue a bachelor’s degree while staying in Santa Fe. We know that earnings increase significantly as a worker’s degree of education rises. A healthy economic climate requires educated workers – at all levels.”
