How Writers Sabotage Themselves And What To Do About It
February 15 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pmFree
Michael McGarrity is a clinical social worker, New York Times best-selling novelist with 17 books in print, and originator of the SFCC Richard Bradford Memorial Creative Writing Scholarship. He’ll discuss the pitfalls aspiring writers face as they strive to break into print. Issues will include setting unrealistic expectations, overcoming rejection, falling into the trap of self-publishing, over-reliance on the opinion of others, a reluctance to recognize technical and creative flaws, and an unwillingness to persevere and make lifestyle sacrifices.
