It’s mostly free! The Dual Credit program depends on the partnership between the high school and the college or the high school home-schooled family and the college. Tuition and college fees are waived if the class is approved from both sides. Some in-person classes have a lab fee and that must be paid by the student. The online Schedule of Classes shows if the class has a lab fee.

So, the Cashier’s Office will periodically send out bills to all students at SFCC. Dual Credit accounts are credited at midterms (halfway through the semester). Please wait until after midterms to see if you owe any balance. The only part you would need to pay is the lab fee for an approved class. If a student decides to take a class that is not approved for the funding, the Dual Credit Office staff will make sure that the counselor, student and family understands the expense before registering.

Three options: Log into mySFCC and go to “My Schedule” to see your registration status for the semester. Second: Contact your high school counselor and ask. If you are registered for an approved class with a partner high school, then the school district pays for the material as long as you follow the steps to order from the SFCC bookstore. SFCC email is the first, best option. A written message can be informal, but please keep it professional and pay attention to grammar. Kindly wait 24 hours for a response. Check your syllabus for your professor’s office hours to see if you could talk with the professor on the phone or set up a zoom meeting. Some professors message students on Canvas so you have an inbox there as well. If you have not heard back from your professor after two business days (not the weekend), then please contact the Dual Credit Office for more support.

Please show your Canvas gradebook and share what is happening in your class. Your parent, guardian or high school counselor can also ask the DC Office for feedback from your professor.
