Lead faculty of the Controlled Environment Agriculture program (Richard C.) Charlie Shultz spent two weeks at the end of June in Washington D.C. as a Kika de la Garza Fellow for the USDA.
Shultz said, “I was selected to serve as a Faculty member of a Hispanic Serving Institution to gain insight and understanding of the USDA Federal Programs that can benefit my students and my community. A few other Federal programs were also presented including NASA (they need space farmers!!!). It was an honor to represent SFCC and the CEA program. I look forward to sharing the opportunities with students, staff and our local community in Santa Fe.”
