Campus Update: COVID-19 Vaccine Resources – Jan. 8, 2021

 Dear Campus Community,

One of the bright spots in 2021 is the rollout of a vaccine. The state this week announced the launch of an enhanced vaccine registration website. I want to encourage you to enroll soon, so our state can more effectively distribute the vaccine and notify you when vaccine doses will be available in your area.

Visit  vaccinenm.org to enroll and complete your personal profile.

For New Mexicans who wish to register online for the vaccine, the process is simple:

  1. Users submit basic contact information, including their employment category and medical conditions.
  2. Users are then contacted and prompted to fill out additional demographic and insurance information, at which point their profile is complete. (Vaccinations are free, but providing insurance information, however, helps support the cost of the vaccination program.)
  3. Users wait to receive a notification that they may schedule a vaccination – and on the day of their appointment, they fill out a medical questionnaire about their current health.

Hotline Support: The New Mexico Department of Health is now offering telephone hotline support. Anyone who has questions or would like support with the registration process – including New Mexicans who do not have internet access – can call 1-855-600-3453, press option 0 for vaccine questions, and then option 4 for tech support.

Those who have other vaccine-related questions can call 1-855-600-3453 and simply press option 0 for vaccine questions.

Handy phone app:  The City of Santa Fe has partnered with NOVID to slow the spread of the virus. Download the free app at NOVID.org.  Read more about the app in this Dec. 15  Santa Fe Reporter story, “Spread the Word, not COVID-19.”

We all need to continue our hard work in controlling the spread of the virus by continuing to exercise proper precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation in our efforts to ensure everyone’s health and safety,

Sincerely,

Becky Rowley, Ph.D.
President
