Just a reminder of the important guidelines/philosophy at SFCC regarding shared governance, as noted in Policy 1-11:
“SFCC embraces the concept of Shared Governance, whereby the President, in consultation with representatives of recognized college governance groups, will develop processes and procedures for addressing selected non-policy academic and professional matters. While all official College policy is the result of action by the governing board of the college, the College’s governance groups, individually and through a college-wide Governance Council, are invited to provide comment regarding such policy statements for consideration by the Governing Board, according to the process outlined in Policy 1-2, Establishing College Policies.”
