Welcome to the School of Liberal Arts and Core Studies
The School of Liberal Arts and Core Studies offers a varied curriculum, including courses in developmental studies for students who need assistance in improving their basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics as well as courses in human development that provide students with the information and skills necessary for meeting personal and career goals.
Students are also given an opportunity to earn college credit by engaging in community service through the Department of Service Learning and to take a wide variety of general education, university transfer courses in communications, social and behavioral sciences, humanities, mathematics and world languages. The school offers associate in arts (A.A.) degrees and certificates.
Liberal Arts and Core Studies courses are designed to give students a solid foundation in general education. Many of these degrees will transfer to bachelor's degree programs at four-year colleges.
